INVESTIGATIONS
With our knowledge and experience we can handle any fraud, criminal or insurance investigation, assist and liaise with the SAPS, State Prosecutors and Attorney Generals for effective prosecution. Liaising with these officials ensure that there is a smooth transition into the criminal and / or civil process. This minimizes acquittals due to technicalities or insufficient evidence.
Our investigators have experience in the field of Criminal and Forensic Investigations as well as experience in serious & violent crimes. Investigators were ex-police detectives with proven track records of successful investigative operations while in the SAPS as well as private investigators.
POLYGRAPH EXAMINATIONS
Our Polygraph Examiner was a member of the South African Police Service for a period of 19 years. She has experience in investigating criminal cases ranging from theft to murder. After resigned from the SAPS in 2009, she further qualified herself as a Vetting clerk, Trauma debriefed consultant, and Polygraph examiner.
UNDERCOVER AGENTS
Wecan offer Undercover Agent Services in order to infiltrate and investigate the employees that are responsible for losses within the company. The agent will be able to identify and report on short comings related to the company systems controls and procedures. This will ensure the prevention and minimizing of criminal activities within the company.
Prior to placing the Agent onto the company premises, the Agent will familiar himself with the company's basic Standard Operating Procedures to develop the necessary skill to report on all matters relating to the business.
The Agent will be tasked to infiltrate and report on all matters relating to theft and irregularities taking place within the company and to identify the staff who is involved. The Agent will then be tasked to investigate the theft or irregularities and to report on the modus operandi used to remove the stolen items or property from the company premises, whereby management can implement or improve on the current procedures in order to prevent the criminal activities taking place.
MISSING PERSONS
A missing persons investigation is a thorough examination of the circumstances surrounding the unknown whereabouts of an individual. Missing persons investigations can be some of the most challenging and multifaceted assignments in the law enforcement field.
Missing Adults – Investigations into missing adults begin in the jurisdiction where the person was last seen. This is to ensure that the search begins in the nearest area, which will also handle a criminal investigation if foul play is suspected.
Child Abduction – Although rare, child abductions are given the highest priority, and an RED Alert is implemented. In such cases, missing persons investigators are employed immediately to coordinate efforts with other law enforcement agencies, and friends and family members.
RECONSTRUCTION OF VEHICLE ACCIDENTS
Accident reconstruction drawings are visual recreations or sketches of an accident. They normally depict the accident and the surrounding area, as well as the vehicles and people involved. They're created using eyewitness reports, photos, security footage, and physical evidence.
FINGERPRINT AND HANDWRITING ANALYSIS
Although LERISK does not perform fingerprint detection and/or examinations, there are occasions where fingerprinting a document is required. In the process of fingerprinting paper dyes, chemical developers and treatments used in the procedures can affect and even destroy potential handwriting evidence. Therefore, when considering fingerprinting a document, the original document must be first submitted to the handwriting section of the laboratory protected by a plastic sleeve or package. The document(s) will be processed for handwriting evidence without disturbing any latent fingerprints and returned in its’ original condition.
